Founded in 2014 by journalist Duncan Greive, The Spinoff has become Aotearoa’s home for independent journalism, illuminating perspectives and good times.
Today, The Spinoff is led by CEO Amber Easby, editor Veronica Schmidt, and employs 30 people with offices in Auckland and staff in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
The Spinoff is committed to inclusive hiring practices and recognises Te Tiriti o Waitangi as Aotearoa’s founding document and the principles it embodies.
